Zambujeira do Mar, Portugal

about

Written for and about the moment I proposed to my wife in Zambujeira do Mar, a tiny seaside town in southern Portugal. The music was assembled from recording sessions done with and without me in Lisbon, Munich, San Francisco and Chicago, based on a melody that my wife's family would whistle when she was a child. We use it to this day to say "Hey, I'm over here!" to each other. I played it for her at sunset on a cliff overlooking the ocean, and a massive flock of birds flew past us as the choir started singing. I can't believe that actually happened.
